Donald Kernisant Jr. focuses his practice on the defense of premises liability, motor vehicle accidents and construction accidents.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Donald managed the Criminal Defense practice at a boutique law firm in addition to representing buyers and sellers in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Donald has civil litigation experience from his time at a New York Law firm defending insurers as a member of the Insurance Fraud and the Compliance, Investigation & White Collar Crime practice groups. Donald began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Queens County District Attorney's Office where he served as a member of the Felony Narcotics Trials Bureau and prosecuted various types of felony cases from arrest through indictment, motion practice, hearings and ultimately trial.

Donald serves as an adjunct professor of law at Hofstra University's Maurice A. Deane School of Law where he is a faculty instructor for students of the Hofstra Trial Advocacy Association. At Hofstra, Donald coaches trial advocacy skills for students in advance of nationwide interscholastic mock trial competitions.
