Partner Lisa Handler Ackerman and Of Counsel Laura Stutz will cover developments in biometric privacy laws, litigation trends, and notice and consent best practices companies should consider implementing to mitigate liability, including class action exposure. The presenters will discuss the nuances of the 2008 Biometric Information Privacy Act of Illinois, which has seen a growing trend of class action litigation in recent years, as well as legislation enacted in other states, such as Washington, California and New York, to prevent the collection of biometric information without consent.
