Jana Farmer (Partner-White Plains) and Adam Buchwalter (Of Counsel-New Jersey) will present at the third session of the Professional Education for Artists series sponsored by Wilson Elser, ArtsWestchester and the Fine Art Committee of the New York State Bar Association Section on Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law. The session will be held on March 13, 2019, in White Plains, New York. Jana will introduce the topic and panelists, stressing that artists need a will/advance plan on disposition of artworks and should not leave decision making to those who may not have art world expertise; also, it is important to select a trusted group of people to include on artists' foundations. Adam will speak on the basics of estate planning and the benefits of wills; specific issues facing artists and collectors; and considerations of lifetime giving of art versus testamentary bequests. The panel will be followed by a Q&A and wine and cheese networking reception with the panelists.
This event is complimentary, however, registration is required.
