Back to the Future: Key Components for Preparing for a Successful Mediation
When: October 16, 2025
Conference:
DRI Annual Meeting

Chicago, IL

People: Denise M. Motta

Denise Motta (Of Counsel-Louisville, KY) will lead a panel on “Preparing for a Successful Mediation” at the DRI Annual Meeting to be held October 15–17, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois. The session will provide best practices to ensure a case is ready for mediation and, ultimately, resolution. Mediation is a process – not an event – and many practitioners do not take advantage of new considerations and techniques. The panel will provide strategies for updating mediation skills to allow for the best chance of success, including the best ways to prepare cases for mediation (liability, damages, expert considerations) and how to present a case to the mediator to reach a resolution. Denise is the Vice Chair of DRI’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and a Steering Committee Member of DRI’s Construction Law Committee. She also is a panel member for the American Arbitration Association, Construction and Commercial, serving as an arbitrator and mediator.
