Lori Semlies (Partner-White Plains, NY) will participate on a panel titled “Can Your Captive Eradicate the Impact of COVID-19 on Its Medical Malpractice Program?” at the Cayman Captive Forum 2022, sponsored by Cayman International Insurance on November 29–December 1, 2022, on Grand Cayman Island. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on captives unlike any other communicable illness in the history of captives. The shutdown of boardrooms and courtrooms (litigation) as well as the slowdown of the economy for an extended period of time reduced the profitability of many organizations, causing a struggle for captives to invest in their own resources. Lori and the panel will highlight some of these struggles and address opportunities moving forward to enhance profit margins and put captives back on track and on solid financial ground.
