Marisa will offer insight into how broader societal trends can significantly influence individual, day-to-day insurance claims. In this day and age of real-time reporting, it is critical for adjusters to understand the impact that news stories and political trends have on juries, claimant counsel, jurists and claimants themselves. However, there are several outside factors that can play a role in how much a single claim may be worth. Marisa urges adjusters to consider the demographic makeup of the region in which an incident occurred, and specifically whether the facts of the incident or the characteristics of the claimant could be linked to larger issues or news events.
