Delgadillo v. Television Center, Inc.: The Privette Doctrine Revisited
When: January 12, 2019
Conference:
California State University, East Bay
Oakland, CA

Jimmy S. Ly (Of Counsel-San Francisco) will conduct a two-hour presentation on the Privette Doctrine in the wake of Delgadillo v. Television Center, Inc., and its implications to forward-planning for entities and individuals in the construction industry. For more than 25 years, the Privette Doctrine has governed the extent of liability that general contractors and property owners have for worksite injuries suffered by a subcontractor’s employees.  This program will examine the Delgado case, which was certified for publication in 2018, and analyze the rationale used by the court to rebuff creation of additional exceptions to the Privette Doctrine. This is one of several courses offered free on January 12, 2018, to help attorneys satisfy their California Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) requirements in one day with courses that are convenient, fast and easily accessible.

More information and a convenient RSVP form are available on the event website.
