Bill Katt (Partner-Milwaukee, WI) and Kathryn Grace (Partner-McLean, VA) were asked by AIG Aerospace to present on two topics often central to the defense of aviation-related entities. Bill explained the origin, history and use of the government contractor defense. Kathryn discussed the General Aviation Revitalization Act, a statute of repose that applies to the manufacturers of general aviation aircraft. Both topics are often misunderstood and AIG wanted to learn how the Wilson Elser aviation team interprets these defenses and uses them in the defense of our clients. The audience included underwriters and claims people from across the United States as well as the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain and Canada.
