Irv Hirsch (Partner-New York) served as a judge at the Yale Mock Trial Association’s 2019 Yale Invitational on December 8, 2019, on the Yale campus in New Haven, Connecticut. The program includes college students from throughout the country who participate in a mock trial.

In Irv’s courtroom, a criminal trial was conducted by students from MIT and Boston University. The defendant was charged with the death of his daughter, who had a known history of mental illness, and was found on the bottom of a cliff after hiking with her father on a dangerous hiking trail. Each side presented an opening statement, called three witnesses and made closing statements.
