Daniel Tranen (Partner-St. Louis, MO) will co-present on the impact of the Supreme Court’s Loper Bright decision on the insurance industry at the CLM National Conference to be held April 9–11, 2025, in Grapevine, Texas. Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, which overturned the Chevron Deference (the latitude federal judges give agencies over how to interpret the statutes they administer when a dispute arises), significantly alters the regulatory landscape for federal agencies. With Chevron Deference no longer guiding courts to defer to agency expertise, companies may face increased litigation and regulatory uncertainty as courts now exercise independent judgment over agency interpretations of statutes. The session will discuss the implications for regulated industries and how the shift might influence claims management and defense strategies.
