Otis Felder (Partner-Los Angeles, CA) has been invited to speak at the 4th International Scientific Conference, "AI Literacy and the Future of the Legal Profession," on November 10, 2026, at the Vilnius University Faculty of Law in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference brings together scholars, practitioners, judges, and policymakers to explore a question that concerns every litigator: how lawyers can understand, critically evaluate, and responsibly use AI in light of Article 4 of the EU AI Act, which establishes AI literacy requirements. Otis will present "Nomogogy: A Gap Analysis of Faculty Integration of AI-Supported Formative Feedback in Legal Writing Instruction for International Law Students." The study examines the knowledge, motivations, and institutional support law faculty need to integrate AI-supported feedback into legal writing instruction effectively and fairly. Otis’s research frames AI adoption as a multidimensional performance challenge rather than simply a question of access to tools, underscoring that sustained human oversight is essential to responsible use. These findings align with the conference's focus on professional competence, human oversight, and rethinking legal education in the AI era. Otis's participation reflects the firm's commitment to staying at the forefront of how emerging technology is reshaping legal practice and ensuring that the judgment, ethical standards, and advocacy our clients rely on keep pace with the changes.
