People: Daniel E. Tranen

Daniel Tranen (Partner-Edwardsville, IL | St. Louis, MO) will join a 90-minute panel discussion titled “Whose Records Are They – And What Are the Ethics?” for the Missouri Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts on January 21, 2022. The presentation will relate to the subpoenaing of therapy records and the ethics of doing so. The panel will discuss the process and uses of therapy records, particularly in family court cases; the risk management issues for therapists in this process; and professional responsibility obligations for both therapists and lawyers as their clients seek to use these records in divorce litigation.  As an attorney who routinely represents therapists in the Saint Louis area, Daniel will focus on risk management for therapists from both a liability and licensing perspective.
