Susan Schwartz (Partner-Dallas, TX) will will serve as an instructor at the CLM Claims College to be held September 8–11, 2021, virtually and in Baltimore, MD, for the class titled “Working with Independent Counsel." The presentation will cover the role of independent counsel in the context of insurance defense, frequently assigned when a reservation of rights letter qualifies the defense of the claim. Susan and her co-instructor, Jeanette Bourey, Director, Associate General Counsel – Claims, Greater Chicago Area with Markel, will provide information to help attendees understand the relationship with independent counsel and how to increase communications between the carrier and the independent counsel.
