Gina Pittore represents established businesses and individuals in a broad range of data privacy and cybersecurity matters. Her practice focuses on incident response related to actual or suspected cybersecurity incidents or data breaches, ranging from email compromises to sophisticated ransomware attacks. Gina advises clients on their legal obligations under U.S. and international data privacy and breach notification laws and assists clients in devising crisis communication and notification strategies.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Gina served as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office in the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity section. She conducted numerous investigations involving data privacy, cybersecurity and technology accountability, primarily investigating violations of consumer protection laws, including the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, the New Jersey Identity Theft Prevention Act, HIPAA and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA). As a former state privacy regulator, Gina provides valuable insight for clients on identifying and staying abreast of enforcement trends. During law school, Gina worked for one of the top three international credit rating agencies, handling securities law compliance matters.
Before becoming a lawyer, Gina used her information technology degree working for Hewlett Packard, where she gained a wealth of IT industry knowledge she capably brings to all aspects of her legal practice.
