Joseph L. Francoeur

Joseph L. Francoeur (Partner-New York, NY) co-presented a 90-minute CLE webinar on May 18, 2021, for Wilson Elser New York Metro attorneys interested in providing pro bono representation of unaccompanied immigrant youth, in partnership with the Safe Passage Project. Immigrants with attorneys increase their chances of being permitted to stay in the United States from 15 percent to 85 percent, but legal counsel is only appointed to those accused of a crime. Joe provided information that will enable each interested Wilson Elser attorney to represent a child before the immigration court, with no other special admission or training required. Ongoing support is available from experienced Wilson Elser volunteers, as well as from Safe Passage Project mentors.
