This presentation will offer an overview of the of the source of most common cyber claims, including phishing campaigns, email account compromises, ransomware events, vendor impersonation, and employee misconduct. The presenters will provide important privacy and security considerations, from maintaining accurate digital and physical device inventories to implementing credential controls and segmentation of administrator responsibilities to protect against these emerging cyber threats. Importantly, they will highlight the importance of developing and implementing an Incident Response Plan, and the advantages of working with outside counsel to respond to cybersecurity incidents. Also included are tips for reducing liability through annual reviews of security risk, internal practices, and vendor contracts, as well as effective ways to mitigate cyber-attacks through continued education and institutional resiliency.
