Joshua Rakoff represents businesses and individuals in complex litigation in state and federal courts across Missouri and Illinois. His practice focuses on the defense of asbestos and other toxic tort claims, product liability and premises liability matters, insurance defense, dram shop liability, trucking and transportation cases, correctional medicine, school torts, mass-transit litigation, as well as business disputes and appellate matters. Additionally, Josh represents life sciences and food-industry companies in high-exposure mass-tort matters involving alleged food contamination, including E. coli outbreaks, as well as food design, manufacturing, and labeling defect claims. He routinely works with scientific and medical experts to address issues of causation, regulatory compliance, and damages.
Josh adeptly handles matters at all stages of litigation, from early case assessment and discovery through motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation, with a focus on efficient, strategic defense aligned with client objectives. Known for his clear, persuasive written advocacy, Josh regularly represents clients in mediation and arbitration and is fluent in Spanish.
