Kathryn Gathy represents individuals and businesses in all aspects of civil litigation. Her practice focuses on the defense of claims involving general liability, transportation, and commercial litigation. Katy holds an M.B.A. degree in addition to her law degree, enabling her to understand the business and legal needs of clients and craft effective defense strategies. A North Carolina native, Katy’s educational and work experiences have taken her from North Carolina to Michigan to Connecticut to Georgia; her drive to attain her goals translates to a tenacious dedication to achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Katy served as house counsel at Progressive Insurance handling insurance defense. Previously, she worked at a civil litigation practice in Savannah, Georgia, concentrating on plaintiff's personal injury cases and medical malpractice defense. Katy began her legal career as a judicial law clerk at the Connecticut Superior Court in New London, Connecticut.

During law school, Katy honed her research and writing skills as a judicial extern for the Honorable Dominic J. Squatrito in the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut. Additionally, she was a student attorney in the foreclosure unit at Community Legal Aid in Springfield, Massachusetts, and interned at a personal injury firm in Waterford, Connecticut.
