Kavi Modi represents individuals and businesses in all aspects of civil litigation. His practice focuses on the defense of claims related to general liability matters and professional liability, with an emphasis on lawyers’ liability and legal malpractice litigation. In addition, Kavi has experience in defending companies against complex tort claims. Kavi prides himself on providing clients with creative and strategic counsel to help them make informed decisions and resolve complex legal challenges efficiently and cost-effectively.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Kavi worked at a mid-sized Chicago firm, where he handled various tort and commercial litigation matters on behalf of municipalities in the Chicago area and throughout Illinois.

During law school, Kavi worked as a student attorney at the Illinois Office of the State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor, where he prepared an appeal on behalf of the State of Illinois and delivered oral arguments before the Fourth District Appellate Court, persuading the court to affirm the trial court's decision. Kavi also gained valuable experience in legal writing and research as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sanjay T. Tailor of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District.
