Lauren Rutkowski represents individuals, businesses, insurers, and corporations in all aspects of civil litigation. Her practice focuses on the defense of claims related to general liability matters. Lauren adeptly manages cases from inception through resolution, guiding clients from pre-suit investigations through discovery and trial. Her experience includes handling numerous bench trials as the sole chair and serving as second chair and sole counsel in multiple jury trials before the District of Columbia and Maryland courts.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Lauren worked for an insurance defense firm in the D.C. metro area, handling all phases of civil litigation. Previously, she served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office in Maryland, where she tried numerous criminal bench trials in district court involving misdemeanor and felony charges. Following law school graduation, Lauren honed her research and writing skills as a law clerk for the Honorable William O. Carr in the Harford County Circuit Court, where she prepared memorandum opinions on various complex legal topics.
