Mark deTranaltes Jr. is a seasoned litigator with a proven track record of effectively managing all aspects of complex civil litigation. His practice focuses on the defense of claims involving complex tort and general casualty matters, transportation disputes, and commercial litigation. Mark’s significant expertise includes adeptly negotiating settlements and trying numerous cases to successful jury verdicts. He draws on his undergraduate background in political science and philosophy to bring a thoughtful, strategic approach to achieving favorable outcomes for clients, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate both in the courtroom and at the negotiating table.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Mark gained extensive experience serving as in-house and outside counsel for multiple major insurance companies and their insureds, where he defended against first- and third-party personal injury claims, product liability lawsuits, and successfully resolved matters in and outside the courtroom.
As a former Casenotes & Comments Editor for the Houston Journal of International Law during law school, Mark has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the legal profession through mentoring emerging lawyers and advancing legal scholarship.
