Matthew Brune represents organizations in a broad range of cybersecurity and data privacy matters. His practice focuses primarily on cyber incident response. Matt assists clients in navigating cybersecurity events and data breaches ranging from business email compromises to sophisticated ransomware attacks. Matt skillfully manages digital forensic and data mining teams to determine the cause and scope of cybersecurity incidents. In addition, he assesses the legal implications of cyber events, advising clients on legal obligations resulting from incidents under state and federal law and counseling them through all phases of state and federal regulatory investigations.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Matt gained valuable experience at a firm specializing in incident response and a broad range of cybersecurity and data privacy legal services. Previously, Matt worked in the Corporate, M&A, and Securities Practice Group at an AmLaw 100 firm, primarily handling buy- and sell-side M&A deals.
