DRI Publishes Article by Wilson Elser Transportation Team

The Defense Research Institute (DRI) has published an article entitled, “Federal Ban on Hand-Held Mobile Telephone Use: Implications for Commercial Motor Vehicles,” by Brian Del Gatto (Partner-Connecticut), in its May 30, 2012 issue of The Voice. The article discusses the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) new law, which prohibits drivers of commercial motor vehicles from holding a mobile phone to conduct vocal communication, dialing a mobile phone by pressing more than one button and reaching for a mobile phone in an unsafe or unacceptable manner

Mr. Del Gatto serves as chair of Wilson Elser’s Transportation, Cargo and Logistics practice and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is involved in numerous transportation-related organizations including: the Transportation Lawyer’s Association (TLA), American Trucking Association, Trucking Industry Defense Association, among others. He recently received the Distinguished Service Award from TLA.
