American Law Journal TV: Fedullo to Be Third Consecutive Woman Chancellor of Philadelphia Bar Association

Rochelle Fedullo (Partner-Philadelphia) is one of three women who have been elected to serve consecutively as chancellor of the 12,000-member Philadelphia Bar Association, an unprecedented lineup reported by American Law Journal TV September 6, 2017. The number of women working in the legal profession has steadily increased over the past decade, but according to the American Bar Association, while 50 percent of law school graduates are women, they make up only 36 percent of the lawyers at U.S. firms. Commenting on her election, Shelli recalled that in 1970 she and a high-school friend really wanted to become lawyers, but at that time it was considered “unrealistic” for women to aspire to the profession. Today she says, “I look ahead to the privilege of leading the nation’s oldest metropolitan bar association in 2019, following two women predecessors.”
