Asia Practice Team Successfully Hosts KALAGNY Panel “Doing Business in Korea”

Philip Quranta (Partner-White Plains), Michael O’Brien (Partner-White Plains) and Sun Ah (Michelle) Park (Associate-White Plains), members of the Asia Practice Team collaborated with the Korean American Lawyers Association of Greater New York (KALAGNY) to hold a panel titled “Doing Business in Korea: What You and Your Client Need to Know.”

The panel was composed of U.S. attorneys practicing in Korea who were in-house counsel for multi-national companies before they joined Lee & Ko, a leading full-service law firm based in Seoul, Korea. The program covered political and economic policy changes by President Moon’s administration that led to changes in the legal and regulatory landscape in Korea. It also provided an overview of some of the key commercial and legal considerations for legal professionals who represent investors and companies that have or are considering investments and/or already have a commercial presence in South Korea. 

The event was well received by attendees from various industries, including pharmaceutical, real estate and private equity companies. The event was also covered by major Korean news media.
