CBS Evening News Interviews Davis on Texas Vaccination Debate

March 4, 2019

Sarah Davis (Of Counsel-Houston), a civil defense attorney, is serving her fifth term as the State Representative for Texas House District 134. Sarah recently appeared on a CBS Evening News segment, “Amid Measles Concerns, Debate Rages in Texas over Vaccination Requirements,” in which she spoke in her role as legislator. Texas has more than 56,000 children with nonmedical exemptions for "reasons of conscience"; a decade ago, it was 10,000. Legislative efforts to eliminate the exemption failed after pressure from anti-vaccine groups. "The anti-vax group has become very, very politically engaged," said Sarah, “and even more modest bills, like improving vaccine reporting, fail to advance.”
