Kelly Awarded Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Highest Honor

April 22, 2019
Patrick M. Kelly (Senior Counsel-Los Angeles), former Western Region Managing Partner and member of the Executive Committee, has been selected by the Los Angeles County Bar Association as this year’s recipient of the Shattuck-Price Outstanding Lawyer Award, which is the LACBA’s highest honor presented to an attorney for “extraordinary dedication to the high principles of the legal profession and to improving the administration of justice.” Pat will receive this well-deserved honor at the LACBA’s Installation and Awards Dinner on June 27, 2019.

Due to Pat’s service to the court as State Bar President, he was elected to the Judicial Council that oversees the court system in California. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), a former president of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and a past recipient of the Thomas W. Wilson Award in recognition of his service to the firm.

Pat’s service to the California legal community is far too great to list here, but it is well worth reading in the LACBA’s press release. For example, while State Bar President working with the American Board of Trial Advocates, Pat led the effort to urge the Supreme Court to add the now familiar civility commitment to the Attorney Oath. Therefore, it is in keeping with the character of Pat Kelley that he paused to thank the firm “for its support over the years in helping me to achieve this honor.”
