Goodson and Finucane Obtain Unanimous Verdict in MedMal Action

Bert Goodson (Senior Counsel-Washington, DC) and Dave Finucane (Of Counsel-Baltimore, MD) obtained a complete defense verdict in Prince George’s County Circuit Court in a medical malpractice action brought against a plastic surgeon, a vascular surgeon and a hospital. Bert and Dave represented the plastic surgeon on behalf of a Wilson Elser client. The plaintiff claimed that defendants failed to change out a Wound VAC sponge in a 90-year-old patient for several weeks, resulting in serious complications and hospitalizations. At the time of trial, the plaintiff claimed in excess of $1 million in damages. After a two-week trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of all defendants.
