Wilson Elser Promotes 10 Attorneys to Partner

NEW YORK (January 1, 2017) – National law firm Wilson Elser is pleased to announce the promotion of 10 attorneys to partner.

Boston

Kara Thorvaldsen, formerly an associate, practices in the areas of appellate, professional liability, intellectual property, class action defense and insurance and reinsurance defense. She graduated magna cum laude with her J.D. degree from Tulane University Law School (2004) and earned a Certificate in Admiralty and Maritime Law. In 2000, she graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with her B.A. degree from Stony Brook University (2000).

Dallas

Valeri Williams, formerly of counsel, has built a litigation practice focused on employment and labor, intellectual property, insurance defense and complex commercial matters. A former award-winning journalist, she draws on her qualifications in investigative reporting to effectively litigate difficult cases. She graduated cum laude with her J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law (2008) and graduated with honors with her B.A. degree from California State University (1983).

Las Vegas

Scott Burris, formerly of counsel, focuses his civil litigation practice on the defense of complex real estate cases, professional liability claims and intellectual property. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law (2004), where he was managing editor of the Utah Journal of Law. He graduated summa cum laude with his B.S. degree, double-major in economics and finance, from Southern Utah University (2001).

Eric Stryker, formerly of counsel, focuses his career on the defense of complex medical malpractice claims and has significant experience with general, premises and product liability cases as well as construction defect matters. He graduated cum laude with his J.D. degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law (1995), where he served on Law Review, and earned his B.A. degree from State University of New York at Buffalo (1990).

Los Angeles

Greg Lee, formerly of counsel, is an experienced civil litigator whose practice encompasses a range of specialized areas, including aviation and aerospace, commercial litigation, employment litigation, general liability, product liability and professional liability, among others.  He earned his J.D. degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2001) and his B.A. degree from University of California, Berkeley (1997).

Louisville

Lynsie Rust Gaddis, formerly an associate,  focuses her litigation practice in general civil defense, with an emphasis on tort defense, commercial disputes and trial advocacy. She earned her J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law (2004) and her B.A. degree from University of Kentucky (2001).

Michigan

William Cook, formerly an associate, focuses his practice on appellate work, general liability and casualty, employment law, and insurance coverage litigation. He graduated summa cum laude with his J.D. degree from Michigan State University College of Law (2005) and earned his B.A. degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University (2002).

New York Metro

Ernest Goodwin (White Plains), formerly of counsel, focuses his practice on product liability, specifically the defense of domestic and foreign manufacturers, distributors and retailers in the United States, Canada and Europe. He earned his J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law (2005), where he served on the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal and earned his B.S. degree from Georgetown University (2002).

Jonathan Meer (New York City), formerly of counsel, focuses his practice on insurance coverage, including monitoring and coverage determinations, with a concentration on directors and officers (D&O), professional errors and omissions (E&O), employment practices and cyber liability programs. He earned his J.D. degree from Rutgers School of Law (2006) and his M.P.A degree from Cornell University (2003). He also graduated cum laude with his A.B. degree from Cornell University (2002).

Richard Ng (New York City), formerly of counsel, has extensive experience defending private physicians, hospitals and nursing homes in medical malpractice actions involving significant injuries and exposure. He earned his J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law (1999) and graduated cum laude with his B.A. degree from New York University (1996).
