Wilson Elser Announces 2022–2023 Thomas W. Wilson Sr. Scholarship Recipient

New York – June 9, 2022 – National law firm Wilson Elser today announced the recipient of the 20222023 Thomas W. Wilson Sr. Scholarship, named for the firm’s Chairman Emeritus, a founding member of the firm.

The Scholarship supports the college education of selected recipients who are children of current, full-time Wilson Elser employees. This year’s recipient is Ava Salfiti, daughter of San Francisco office Of Counsel Juliana Salfiti.

“We are pleased to continue the firm’s scholarship in honor of Thomas W. Wilson Sr. for the 2022–2023 year,” said Daniel McMahon, the firm’s chairman. “Ava is a model student-athlete. We are thrilled to support Ava’s college career and have no doubt she will continue her academic success. I congratulate Juliana and her daughter.”

Ava served as the captain of her high school’s varsity soccer team while maintaining a 4.33 GPA. She serves as a member of several honor societies and as a Student Ambassador to new students. Last year Ava founded the Mercy Medical Club, which focuses on bringing insight and knowledge to students interested in the medical field. Ava also is committed to helping her larger community, volunteering at a local elementary school to tutor and help with school events.

Ava graduates from Mercy High School this month and will attend the University of San Francisco with plans to pursue a major in biological specializations.

The scholarship consists of $10,000 per year for up to four years or graduation, whichever occurs first, at an accredited college or university. This is the thirteenth scholarship the firm has awarded since it started the program in 2010.
