Right to Counsel for Low-Income Tenants Facing Eviction

Philadelphia Bar Association

Date: March 11, 2019
Location: Bar Association Headquarters, Philadelphia

Rochelle Fedullo (Partner-Philadelphia), Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association will host the inaugural Chancellor’s Forum on March 11, 2019, at the Bar Association Headquarters in Philadelphia. The topic, “Right to Counsel for Low-Income Tenants Facing Eviction,” is in response to Philadelphia Bar Association’s recently commissioned report by Stout Risius Ross, LLP, Economic Return on Investment of Providing Counsel in Philadelphia Eviction Cases for Low-Income Tenants, which found that the City of Philadelphia would save $45.2 million per year by investing $3.5 million to fund counsel for low-income tenants facing eviction. The forum will provide a detailed overview of the report's findings and explore strategies to bring Philadelphia into the national right-to-counsel movement.
