Scott Schaffer and Jonathan Meer (Partners-New York) appeared as moderators for separate panels at the NYC Bar event “Insurers’ and Insureds’ Perspective on Current Issues in D&O Liability Insurance 2019," held May 7, 2019, in New York City and by live webcast. Scott also is the program chair for the annual event, which is well attended by attorneys and insurance professionals.

Scott's panel, "A Primer on D&O Liability Exposures and Insurance Coverages," dealt with D&O Fiduciary Duties and the Business Judgment Rule; Statutory Obligations including Federal Securities Laws; Risk Management, Corporate Indemnification and D&O Insurance; and Special Considerations of D&O Claims Handling.  Jonathan’s panel, "Management Liability & Regulatory Scrutiny of Going Private, IPOs and ICOs," focused on Issues Impacting D&Os When Taking a Company Private; Current Review of D&O Activity Regarding IPOs; Regulatory Compliance with Data Maintenance and Breaches; and Unique Issues Presented by Initial Coin Offerings.
