Jana Farmer (Partner-White Plains) and Andrea Sobolewski (Associate-New York) in collaboration NYSBA EASL’s Fine Art Committee will present "Legal Issues in Visual Art, Photography & Sculpture" on March 2, 2020, at ArtsWestchester in White Plains, New York. The panel presentation will focus on the various intellectual property issues that visual artists encounter in their everyday practice. Specifically, Jana and Andrea will explore issues in copyright law; the regulation of fine art multiples, editions and prints; and comment on recent high-profile fair use and appropriation art decisions. Julie A. Hopkins, Principal at Hopkins IP, will join the panel to discuss model releases and right of privacy concerns, such as when an artist can use an individual's likeness in an artwork. Nisa Lynn Ojalvo, Esq., Vice President, Legal Affairs for LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Inc. will serve as moderator for the panel.
