Dean Rocco (Partner-Los Angeles, CA) and Paul White (Partner-Los Angeles, CA) will present a two-hour seminar, “The Fallout of COVID-19 as an Emerging Risk in the Insurance Industry,” sponsored by the Surplus Lines Association of California on March 11, 2021. Their presentation is designed for insurers, employers, agents and brokers in regard to the developing commercial risks flowing from the COVID-19 pandemic, how the insurance markets are responding to those risks and how courts have or may treat these issues. Dean and Paul will discuss coverage litigation arising from commercial property claims and how courts have handled denials by carriers in that context. Other topics include liability waivers and their actual or anticipated efficacy, legislative efforts in response to the denial of COVID-19-related claims, workplace-related risks and claims arising in that context, as well as the actual and anticipated efficacy of waivers in the employment context.
