Anjali Das (Partner-Chicago, IL) will join a panel on “Existing and Emerging Cyber Risk in the Medical Industry” at the PLUS Healthcare & MedPL Symposium to be held May 11–12, 2021. Advances in technology have transformed the delivery of health care, but with more facilities now relying on computer-based systems, the risks have evolved as well. Health care organizations are subject to stringent laws and regulations requiring them to maintain the privacy and security of their data, in the face of increased targeting by cyber criminals. Anjali’s session will discuss the cyber risks health care organizations face, their duties to protect the security of data and the consequences for failure to do so, as well as mechanisms available to assist in their efforts.
