The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) can present unique challenges for the hospitality industry and Bruno Katz (Partner-San Diego) addressed these issues at the 12th Annual Hospitality Law Conference in Houston, Texas, on February 11, 2014.
In the breakout session, Bruno used case law and scenarios to demonstrate appropriate steps companies should take when audits, claims and complaints arise. They also offered strategies for the industry to better prevent and defend against FLSA claims.
On the first day of the conference, Bruno and Jennifer Arledge (Partner-Las Vegas) presented on “Risk Management: Building a Defensible Claim with the Help of your Employees.” Wilson Elser was a Champion Sponsor and exhibitor at the Hospitality Law Conference, an annual conference that converges the legal, risk, development and finance sectors of the hospitality industry in an effort to education and innovate.
