Patrick Kearns (Of Counsel-San Diego) gave a presentation entitled, “You Want Who to Do What? - An Interactive Look at Eliminating Bias in the Legal Profession,” to the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association on August 12, 2014 in San Diego, California. Patrick focused on the elimination of bias in the legal profession as well as discussed the California Rules of Professional Conduct and the ABA Model Rules that govern anti-discrimination and bias issues for lawyers. He also used real-world scenarios to present a variety of discrimination and bias situations that are not particularly obvious, but nevertheless occur.
