Octavio Renteria defends various businesses and entities throughout all phases of litigation. He concentrates his practice in civil litigation, with an emphasis on commercial transportation and general liability defense. Octavio has extensive experience representing clients through initial case investigation, discovery, motion practice, mediation and settlement, as well as trial preparation. As a zealous and creative litigator, Octavio has obtained dismissal in a variety of matters, including claims of defamation, malicious prosecution, breach of contract and negligence, among others. He also has successfully defended clients against joint venture theories of liability.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Octavio was an attorney at a defense firm in Chicago where he litigated on behalf of various motor carriers, property owners, physicians and nurses, manufacturers and businesses. 

While in law school, Octavio built a strong foundation for written and oral advocacy as a member of the Appellate Moot Court Honor Society. He was selected by several professors to provide support as a Teaching Assistant and was a CALI Award for Excellence recipient. 

In addition to his professional memberships, Octavio is actively involved in the Saint Patrick High School Green & Gold Society, an alumni networking group, where he provides mentorship to high school and college students interested in pursuing the legal profession.
