Orenthal (OJ) Jasmin represents clients in the areas of insurance defense and trucking. His practice focuses on the defense of claims related to general liability, automobile liability and personal injury.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser in 2024, OJ spent 12 years in the courtroom as a prosecutor with the St. John the Baptist Parish District Attorney's Office, ultimately achieving the position of First Assistant District Attorney. In his career as an Assistant District Attorney, OJ prosecuted felony and misdemeanor trials, and successfully argued appeals, federal habeas petitions and supervisory writs on behalf of the District Attorney.
Over the course of his career, OJ has acquired nearly 15 years of legal experience, ranging from representing commercial clients in tax controversy matters to representing a School Board as its General Counsel. In addition, OJ taught Criminal Justice as an Adjunct Professor at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
