Payman (Paul) Poushnejad focuses his practice on toxic tort and product liability defense. He represents businesses in the engineered stone industry in claims involving silica exposure, guiding clients through complex occupational health and environmental liability litigation.
Before joining Wilson Elser, Payman served as a Deputy District Attorney with the Placer County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases and gained significant courtroom experience. He also represented hundreds of applicants in workers’ compensation matters, providing him with a unique perspective on injury claims from both the claimant and defense sides. His workers’ compensation experience includes successfully prevailing in a published California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board decision involving the application of the initial physical aggressor defense.
Drawing on his experience in criminal prosecution, workers’ compensation, and toxic tort litigation, Payman approaches each matter with strong advocacy skills, practical judgment, and a results-oriented focus.
