Rachel Merker defends individuals, businesses, and municipalities in general liability, premise liability, and construction law cases.
Before joining Wilson Elser, Rachel served for seven years as principal attorney for the Attorney Grievance Committee of the 10th Judicial District of New York, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, investigating and prosecuting allegations of attorney misconduct. Before that, she worked for two years at the New York City Law Department in Brooklyn Torts and Special Federal Litigation.
Rachel started her career as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn, New York, first-chairing eight trials, all of which resulted in guilty verdicts.
She teaches continuing legal education seminars on the Rules of Professional Conduct for St. John’s University School of Law, the Practicing Law Institute, and the New York State Judicial Institute.
