Ryan Mooney represents businesses and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation. His practice focuses on defending claims related to general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, and personal injury.

An experienced litigator, Ryan has successfully represented clients in civil and criminal trials for nearly 20 years. Before joining Wilson Elser, he served for more than 14 years as a member of the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG), specializing in criminal litigation. Before joining the Navy, Ryan gained civil litigation experience as an associate at a plaintiff’s personal injury firm in Baltimore and, prior to that, as a litigation attorney for one of the largest auto insurance companies in the United States.

Ryan started his career as a criminal defense attorney with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender. Since then, he has litigated criminal and civil jury trials, bench trials, and administrative hearings. His experience and litigation skills include negotiating settlements, conducting discovery, drafting and arguing pretrial motions, and examining experts.
