Wendy Testa (Partner-Philadelphia) presented on a live, interactive panel titled “The Need for Speed: Protecting Construction Professionals from Escalated Project Schedules and Supply Chain Chaos” at the 2022 ClaimsXchange sold-out inaugural (in-person) annual conference held October 12-14 in Philadelphia. The panel examined the unprecedented challenges impacting construction professionals stemming from ongoing, severe supply chain and labor shortages, escalations in material costs and the significant pressure to deliver projects on time and under budget. Topics of discussion included types of claims arising in today’s environment and how claims professionals can work with their insureds to combat the inability to fulfill the terms and conditions of unreasonable contracts, minimize the fallout from bad deals and use risk management tools to avoid inflexible construction contracts leaving little or no room for unexpected developments.
