Wilson Elser was a proud sponsor of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s 2024 Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair held in Washington D.C., August 7–9, 2024. At the Career Fair, we showcased why Wilson Elser is the nation’s preeminent defense litigation firm and how our success relates to our DEI efforts. Since its inception in 1988, Lavender Law has served as a “family reunion” for LGBTQ+A legal professionals where they look back at a shared history and forward to the future of the legal profession. The Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair is the largest LGBTQ+ legal conference in the country.
Representing the firm was Otis Felder (Partner-Los Angeles CA), Gene Stith (Of Counsel-New York, NY) and Alexandra Skarka (Associate-Philadelphia, PA). This year’s event was attended by some 2,500 participants. CLE and learning opportunities presented by community leaders and scholars addressed issues such as “Resisting Global Attacks on LGBTQ+ Protections,” “The Nuts and Bolts of the U.S. Immigration System,” “Establishing Common Ground: Advocating for LGBTQ+ Rights from Opposing Sides and Criminal Law” and “Why a DEI Perspective Is Essential to Today’s ADR Practice.”
