Altea Di Stefano’s practice focuses on insurance coverage and commercial litigation. She represents and advises major national and international insurers on a broad array of insurance coverage issues across various general and professional lines of coverage, including but not limited to claims involving directors and officers, errors and omissions, employers, construction defects, and cyber liability insurance policies.

In connection with her insurance coverage practice, Altea advises domestic and foreign insurers across a broad range of industries, including but not limited to aviation and aerospace, fashion and retail, maritime and transportation, sports and entertainment, real estate, cyber liability, and consumer products. Her work covers first-party and third-party matters involving property damage, personal liability, catastrophic losses, business interruption, contractual and extra-contractual liability, and specialty risk policies. She further acts as monitoring/supervisory counsel to both primary and excess or umbrella insurance carriers in connection with evaluation of the claim and risk exposure, defense developments, and assistance in negotiating the carrier’s settlement obligations.

In her commercial litigation practice, Altea routinely represents corporate executives and other professionals in matters involving high-exposure malpractice claims, professional liability, breach of fiduciary duty, and complex contract issues, including trade secrets, unfair competition, and intellectual property infringement.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Altea worked at a New York metropolitan area firm, representing insurers and insureds in mass tort litigation and insurance coverage matters, including declaratory judgment actions.
