Wilson Elser partners Justin Shireman (Boston, MA) and David Ross (Washington, DC) presented a Boston Bar Association webinar, “‘Reliable and Relevant’: Preparing and Challenging Expert Evidence,” on May 4, 2023. Justin and David explained considerations for when and whether to retain experts and the types of experts to retain, as well as steps to ensure that your expert’s testimony will survive a Daubert challenge and how to develop arguments against an opposing party's experts. Justin and David also discussed the proposed December 2023 amendment to Federal Rule 702 and recent federal case law focusing on the courts’ “gatekeeper” role. Justin is Co-chair of the Products Liability Committee of the Boston Bar Association’s Insurance & Tort Section.
