Wilson Elser was ranked second only to the U.S. Department of Justice as the most active defense counsel in the torts category in Lex Machina's 2022 Law Firms Activity Report. The ranking was announced in an article titled “These Firms Steered the Most Cases in the Last 3 Years,” which appeared in the February 24, 2022, posting of Law360 Pulse. Lex Machina rankings are based on caseload from 2019 to 2021 in more than 15 practice areas. The report shows the U.S. Department of Justice continues to be the most active counsel overall, and that COVID-19-related cases are continuing to evolve.
