David Finucane, a former surgery technician at Bethesda Naval Hospital, focuses his trial practice on the defense of high-exposure medical malpractice lawsuits in Maryland state and federal courts. David primarily represents physicians, nurse midwives, anesthesiologists and other health care providers and has extensive experience defending obstetrics cases as well as other complex medical malpractice claims.

David brings to his practice a unique background in Mohs micrographic cancer surgery, an area is which he was trained and worked as a technician while serving from 1980-1990 as a Navy Corpsman. As the senior dermatology technician and only Navy Mohs micrographic surgery technician on the East Coast, David was an integral part of a cutting-edge Bethesda Naval Hospital surgical team that treated numerous domestic and foreign dignitaries. During his time in the Navy, David also acted as a consultant on several occasions, assisting the Naval School of Health Sciences plan the curriculum for the Dermatology Technician School.

Prior to entering law school, David worked as a consultant in connection with the establishment of Mohs micrographic surgery centers at the University of Virginia, The George Washington University Medical Center, and several private surgery centers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
