Eliza Scheibel concentrates her practice in the areas of municipal/local government and commercial services, with experience in appellate matters. In addition, Ellie defends municipalities and municipal officials in federal civil rights claims. She has successfully briefed and argued numerous appeals, including cases before the New York Appellate Division and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Her in-depth knowledge of the law, her adept research ability and her persuasive writing techniques have made Ellie indispensable to clients and colleagues alike. She also has been a key contributor to several case wins that made front-page headline news in the New York Law Journal.

Selected as a Rising Star in Westchester’s 40 Under 40 by the Business Council of Westchester, Ellie is recognized for her professional accomplishments, leadership qualities and outstanding success among attorneys under the age of 40. 

Ellie’s prior experience with an international firm in Boston included a wide range of litigation experience such as complex commercial, antitrust and appellate litigation. She has represented companies in internal and government investigations and related civil litigation as well as public and private companies in the pharmaceutical, high tech, paper, copper tubing and health care industries, among others. Her clerkships have provided Ellie with invaluable insight into federal litigation. In addition, she is experienced in pro bono practice representing civil and criminal clients at the trial and appellate levels.
