Celena Mayo (Partner-New York, NY), cochair of Wilson Elser’s Employment & Labor Practice, was quoted in “From Furloughs to Resilience: HR Lessons from the Federal Shutdown,” an article that appeared in the October 24, 2025, posting of HR.com. Celena focused on workforce protection: “One of the chief considerations for federal contractors is keeping their people paid and employed during the shutdown. Depending on the type of contract at issue, federal funding may stop during the shutdown. A contractor, depending on that funding, may not have access to money, which could result in layoffs and make it difficult to resume work after the shutdown ends. Even contractors with fully funded contracts may face challenges if federal offices are closed and employees cannot access worksites.”
